I've been developing my skills and experience as a family lawyer for nine years now. After starting in firms in South Auckland I had two years at Child, Youth and Family where I gained invaluable experience in complex family law matters including CYFS matters and lengthy court hearing. Immediately before joining Family Law Results I spent three years in England working in child protection representing social services.
While specialising in adoptions, parenting arrangements, domestic violence and CYFS proceedings, I have recently started training to become a family court appointed mediator. All of this experience and training gives me the skills and knowledge to resolve your family matters quickly and with the minimum of court involvement.
In my spare time I'm mum to my six month old pup and a DIY foodie - often to be found doing things like cheese making courses or lurking around farmer's markets for something new to experiment with.
Barbara is currently on Maternity Leave. We wish Barbara and her family all the best until her return.
At Family Law Results we call our lawyers "Legal Eagles". Why? We want our lawyers to stand out from the crowd and because we want them to aspire to being the best. Not just lawyers but Legal Eagles instead.
Solicitor, Barrister or Lawyer - what's the difference?
Lawyer is a catch all term for barristers, solicitors, in-house counsel - everyone who practises law.
Barristers, traditionally, are those lawyers who represent people in court. Solicitors, traditionally, are the lawyers who work with the client and instruct the barrister. In practical terms, in New Zealand, there is not a lot of difference and all of the lawyers at Family Law Results are Barristers and Solicitors.
