I finished at the University of Otago in 2008 with a double degree - LLB/BA (Sociology). After being admitted in 2009, I joined Family Law Results as the new kid on the block.
I have a passion for family law, learning and working closely with clients to help solve their problems and achieve their goals. I work under the supervision of the more senior lawyers in the team but I'm learning quickly and not afraid of challenging their thinking to make sure that I'm getting the best result for my clients.
Kesia is not currently working at Family Law Results as she has headed off on a big adventure overseas. We hope to see her back some time in the future when she's finished wandering!
At Family Law Results we call our lawyers "Legal Eagles". Why? We want our lawyers to stand out from the crowd and because we want them to aspire to being the best. Not just lawyers but Legal Eagles instead.
Solicitor, Barrister or Lawyer - what's the difference?
Lawyer is a catch all term for barristers, solicitors, in-house counsel - everyone who practises law.
Barristers, traditionally, are those lawyers who represent people in court. Solicitors, traditionally, are the lawyers who work with the client and instruct the barrister. In practical terms, in New Zealand, there is not a lot of difference and all of the lawyers at Family Law Results are Barristers and Solicitors.
