After graduating from the University of Auckland in 2001 I started practising at McKay Hill Gale in Taupo in 2003 before working for Child Youth and Family and then Miller Poulgrain in Thames in 2007 to 2009. During this time I've gained experience in a wide range of Civil Law matters concentrating largely on Family Law.
I have a passion for Family Law and after a short period of travel in 2009 I decided to head to Auckland to where I felt I had the best opportunity to develop and use my family law expertise. As a result I joined Family Law Results in January 2010.
In my spare time I train for and participate in triathalons and have previously represented New Zealand at an age group level overseas.
At Family Law Results we call our lawyers "Legal Eagles". Why? We want our lawyers to stand out from the crowd and because we want them to aspire to being the best. Not just lawyers but Legal Eagles instead.
Solicitor, Barrister or Lawyer - what's the difference?
Lawyer is a catch all term for barristers, solicitors, in-house counsel - everyone who practises law.
Barristers, traditionally, are those lawyers who represent people in court. Solicitors, traditionally, are the lawyers who work with the client and instruct the barrister. In practical terms, in New Zealand, there is not a lot of difference and all of the lawyers at Family Law Results are Barristers and Solicitors.
